Speeding-up court trials process project, one of the action areas of Speeding-up Criminal Justice System in Enugu State, recorded another major achievement on Thursday 15th November, 2012, when the Enugu State Judiciary took delivery of three Motorcycles donated by PRAWA on behalf of Justice for All [J4A] Programme of DFID.

The Motorcycles were donated to facilitate the job of Court Bailiffs who are responsible for dispatching Court summons to people needed in courts. The problem of late and in some cases non service of Court summons to the intended persons were identified as some of the factors that cause delay court trials and slow down dispensation of criminal justice in Enugu State.

By this donation of Motorcycles to Court Bailiffs, the earlier practice of Bailiffs dispatching summons of Counsels by public transport will be greatly reduced. It will also reduce the burden of huge financial commitment on transport fares of Court Bailiffs off the shoulders of Enugu State Judiciary.

Honourable Justice Agbata, of Enugu High Court who chaired the occasion in his opening remarks commended PRAWA and J4A for the initiative. Hon. Justice A. A. Nwobodo, the Pilot Court Judge pointed out that the impact of  PRAWA and J4A in facilitating a speedy dispensation of Criminal Justice in Enugu State is so obvious that it is already being felt by all.

Dr. Uju Agomoh, the Executive Director of PRAWA in her speech explained that the J4A project on speeding up the Criminal Justice System in Enugu State is divided into six components  which are all encompassing
