The Nigerian Nollywood industry has shown support to Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action PRAWA initiative on illegal migration awareness activities tagged: “Illegal Migration Awareness Project IMAP”. The problem of illegal migration has become so critical because a very high percentage of Nigerians are involved in this. Less wonder that cream Del cream of Nigerian Nollywood have braced up against illegal and irregular migration.

The Nollywood Stars: Benedict Johnson, Charles Okafor, Steve Ebo and Joke Silva endorsed the PRAWA cause on illegal migration when the I-MAP Grand Youth Concert was staged on Saturday 26th January, 2013.

Benedict Johnson lends his voice by co- anchoring the show with Kate Ibeanusi of PRAWA Lagos Office. He urged All African young people to shun illegal migration. He said he is a proud Nigerian no matter the circumstances. ‘Discover your innate potentials’, Benedict told them.

Charles Okafor and Joke Silva took turns to admonish Nigerian young people not to be lured into the trap of illegal migration by people he described as evil people. Charles told the crowd about his experience when he visited South Africa and met Nigerians serving their prison terms in South Africa. “It was a slight on my ego as a good Nigerian and I was not happy about it” He lamented. Joke Silva in “Miriam Makiba” style asked the Nigerian youths to make a renewed commitment to succeed in Nigeria, despite all odds.

Steve Eboh showed overwhelming support to the project by dressing in the I-MAP Youth Volunteer Uniform at the concert. He also handed out the award certificates to many of the participating talents and schools.
