On August 12, 2023, PRAWA celebrated International Youth Day under the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.” This theme signifies cross-generational responsibility for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting inclusivity.

This commemoration offers a platform to acknowledge the potential in young individuals and their role in driving global progress. It’s a chance to recognize and address challenges faced by youth collaboratively.

PRAWA celebrated alongside budding football talents from FACKSON NET PRO at Housing Estate Melo, Lagos State. These players were encouraged to embrace diverse opportunities for personal growth.

Beyond sports, the event highlighted football’s role in uniting people across differences. Players were reminded that excelling in football doesn’t hinder academic excellence. Real-world examples of professionals excelling in both spheres were shared.

During the event, players were given the opportunity to enumerate different challenges they face as a youth while playing or trying to become a professional footballers.

1. Financial constraints, in ability to obtain the necessary kits they need and this hinders their performance in the pitch.

2. Lack of sponsorship.

3. Societal view on female players.

The owner of the footballer club Mr. Yusuf Farouk thanked PRAWA for the visit and pleaded that PRAWA and other Civil Society organizations should always make out time to visit them as such visit encourages them and means a lot to the young players.
