Speeding Up Criminal Justice System Project in Enugu State is one of the projects being implemented under component four of the Justice for All Programme under the Management of British Council and Other Consortium Members including some Nigerian Non Government Organizations.
The components are:

1. SECURITY
2. JUSTICE
3. ANTI-CORRUPTION
4. CROSS-CUTTING COORDINATION

The other projects being implemented under the Cross Cutting and External Oversight Enhanced Component in addition to the Speeding Up Criminal Justice Project are Support to Justice Sector Reform Team and Civil Society.

The purpose of this intervention is to work across the entire criminal justice sector [including with organization representing the demand-side] to address and resolve critical blockages in the criminal justice system that slow down or prevent the delivery of effective justice.

The objectives of the project are:

• Identifying and documenting the root causes and factors that prevent speedy dispensation of justice in criminal cases
• Establishing cross-sector coordination groups and other consultation mechanism to review the problems identified and formulate solutions
• Preparing and implementing action plans to address the key causes of delay and inefficiency in criminal cases in a sustainable way
• Developing and implementing effective systems for monitoring the speed and effectiveness of the delivery of criminal justice
• Supporting justice delivery organizations to develop and apply skills to data produced 
• Preparing and disseminating information on the approach, lessons learnt, experiences, challenges and solutions to speed up justice successfully for ATPs in order to encourage replication in other geographical locations [e.g. Non J4A States and other ares of the justice sector.]

One of the tangible landmarks of this collaboration is the commissioning of new Case Management Unit of the Nigerian Prisons Service Headquarters in Enugu.
